Welcome to what is hopefully not the last edition of Oppo’s fourth-favorite* guessing game, Guess The Beer. Last week I found out my coworker brews his own beer. He brought me some. There were three bottles. One was regular, two had additional flavors added. Guess the type of beer, and guess the added flavor of this particular bottle.

I’m going to say: a saison spiced with birds of paradise or a grapefruit ipa.

I have been brewing my own beer for about a year now. It's a lot of fun and you get beer at the end!

You got the saison part right. But neither birds of paradise or grapefruit.

I’ve thought about brewing my own beer on and off, but never gotten serious about it.

I started off small making 2ish gallons at a time using the brew in a bag technique in my kitchen. The nice part of that is the equipment needed is minimal. Back in the spring I upgraded to the full all grain set up. I like to cook, love drinking beer and learning the science behind it so it was pretty natural for me to get into it.

No, it’s chocolate. There was also a mango one that was pretty good.

Interesting, saison’s are one of my favorite styles of beer. The mango would probably be more my type. Chocolate usually makes me think of a stout which admittedly is my least favorite beer.
